Rangemaster Firearms Training Services was founded by Tom and Lynn Givens to offer comprehensive personal defense training across the country and abroad. With over 40 years of experience in firearms instruction, Tom Givens has personally designed a diverse curriculum of practical training for various weapon systems.
For over four decades, Tom Givens has provided firearms training to security staff, military personnel, law enforcement officers, and every day citizens with a focus on personal defense. After a 25-year career in law enforcement and specialized security work, Tom opened his own pistol range in Memphis, TN in 1996. For 18 years, it was the primary source of handgun carry permit certification for the greater Memphis area. Soon joined by his wife Lynn, the training duo formed Rangemaster Firearms Training Services to share their expertise with a much broader audience. They now travel across the country and around the world to arm responsible citizens with the skills and knowledge they need to effectively protect themselves and their families.

Instructor Development Course
Advanced Instructor Course
In the Instructor Course we covered the academic side of marksmanship and adult teaching methodology and given the students a thorough grounding in pistol marksmanship. In the advanced class this allows us to push students to even higher skill levels on the range, including firing in low light both with and without a flashlight if the facility allows. In the classroom we will cover subjects including different scoring methods; target design; course of fire design; instructor liability and how to limit it; and some of the psychological issues involved in teaching people how to fight for their lives.
